Well, as far as Adrien is concerned, obviously the answer is yes. Adrien is the reigning three-time champion. He will defend his title. As far as protocols are concerned, everything that can be done is being done to ensure the safety of our staff and the competitors. Dr. Caine is our neuro-psychiatrist. She can provide more specifics.
Reluctantly, Caine leans forward, breathing awkwardly into her microphone. She speaks with a graceful, matter-of-fact tone.

Well...first, it's important to note that the M-Verse system processes human emotion as energy. There is no way to fully regulate human emotions. Emotions are, by nature, unpredictable. Unpredictability means risks.
In the corner of her eye, Caine catches a glimpse of Chambers glaring at her. He is not pleased.
Having said that, we have retooled the preliminary counseling process. Each potential competitor is given a thorough psychological examination, allowing us to better identify certain responses or behaviors that the M-Verse might consider dangerous or volatile.
