CHAMBERS
This isn't about portals, Michelle. What bothers me is the insinuation that we’re holding a captive creature against its will.

MCNALLY
Dr. Lau assured us that we’re not.

McNally expects affirmation from Chambers. He doesn't get it. Chambers leans back into his seat. He looks at McNally for a moment, then down at the floor. Caine sees the doubt and suspicion in his eyes.

CAINE
You don’t trust him, do you?

MCNALLY
People, c’mon! Seriously? We’re doing this now? Gordon, the premiere is less than 18 hours away. We’ve got about four more hours until the prelims are finished and the competitors are chosen. This is not the time for an analytical breakdown of the M-Verse. After the incident, we took every precaution. Ran every test. Vetted each member of our staff. We’ve doubled the safety protocols. Shortened the pool of contestants in the house. We psychoanalyzed the living hell out of every single competitor in the tryouts. Adrien’s M-Verse activity is under 24-hour surveillance. We’re even opening a smaller portal for the tournament which, for the record, I voted against because it’s stupid! Now Gordon...what else can we do? You tell me. What else can we do?
