Suddenly, Lau shoots up from his seat. His movements startle Caine. Slowly, he approaches her, speaking in a measured, haunting voice. As strange as Adrien was to her, Edward Lau was that much more mysterious.
LAU
I know what you’re thinking, what you're afraid of. I understand. Last year’s incident was horrible for all of us. But everything is under control now. There’s nothing to be afraid of.
CAINE
I’m not afraid. Some would argue that you are.
LAU
McNally. He called Niles on purpose, you know. He wanted to provoke me. Just like Walker wanted to provoke me.
Caine is confused.
