CHAPTER 8
The Mansion
A cameraman follows Adrien Dillard into his living
quarters, which is a large dorm room known as the “Champion’s Suite.” It’s got
a large television, a desk with a computer, and a kitchen, complete with a
refrigerator and dishwasher.
Adrien throws a few light punches and kicks at a heavy bag dangling from the ceiling near his bed. Then he turns to greet the
camera.
ADRIEN
The best part of being a champion is that you get
your own room. Unlike the others here, I don’t have to share space. And while
there are some advantages in learning about the weaknesses of your roommate, I
find solitude to be a more valuable asset.
Adrien sits his desk. The camera leans over his
shoulder as he scrolls on the mouse and the computer screen comes to life. He
clicks on a folder called “Profiles” and scans through the document.
ADRIEN
Marcia and Jason will be easy enough. Stacy might present a problem. She’s been here before and she might still be harboring a grudge after our little...misunderstanding last season.
